VISITING THAILAND IN THREE WEEKS

Latest Travel Blog News: Visiting Thailand in 3 weeks

Welcome to Marta Demartini’s Travel Blog!

I would like to share with you the story of our recent journey in Thailand and delight you with our little adventures that we encountered throughout the holiday alongside with some tips on what to bring, where to stay, do’s and don’ts, and some prices that you might find useful in order to budget your holiday.

Let us describe ourselves first:

WHO ARE WE?

We are adventurous and curious couple, both photographers, landscape, people and culture lovers, we are travelling on a medium budget and we tend to stay away from the big party crowds, unless there’s a big festival going on!

What can you do in Thailand in 3 weeks during the month of April?

{March, April and May, are the hottest months in Thailand, but that to us is not a good enough reason for not to go! And as I am writing these pages now you will gather that we managed to survive!}

After a bit of research here was our choice for the holiday:

-A taste of the Andaman Coast and its beautiful Islands, from exploring the rocky Raileh coastline in the Krabi Province, stopping at the stunning world famous Phi Phi Islands Maya Beach where movie star Leonardo di Caprio’s film “The Beach” was filmed and finally lay down on gorgeous’ white sandy beaches princess of the south Andaman Coast Ko Lipe.    Time allowed 1 week

-A hint of the North, rich in culture and nature, including Chiang Mai and its Temples, a visit to Pai, the hippie village retreat where backpackers meet for a while and share their adventures about their SouthAsia travels, getting to know about the Hill Tribes living in the northern area of Thailand, and a possible day or so spent in an elephant sanctuary, where you learn to look after these fascinating creatures. Time allowed: 1 week

-A must visit to the capital Bangkok to understand how modern Thai westernized lifestyle copes with their traditions and buddhist dogmas. As we enjoy big events we also included the Songkran Festival, alias the Thai New Year celebration that starts with a traditional sprinkle of water to the Buddhas and ends up in a big water war on the streets! Time allowed: 1 week

OUR HOLIDAY OVERALL BUDGET: £ 1500 per person, which must includes international and domestic flights, internal transports, food and accommodation.

Don’t miss out our story and find out if we managed to do it all!!!

MY FIRST FAMILY SESSION BACK HOME: ENEA AND GIOELE

How exciting! I have set a new milestone in my photographic career last week as I photographed my first family session in a new studio that I have set back in my hometown. Maria Lucia’s love affair for art and photography made her wanting to have some creative photos of her family done by me as she spotted my work in a friends house. As I fly over to visit my family on a regular basis, this made the planning very easy and affordable for both of us. I find it very rewarding to be able to bring my style and what I have learned in the UK back in my home town!  hoping this will set the beginning of many more sessions there.

FAMILY PHOTO SESSION LONDON: MANDA & JACK

Another lovely family photo session in my home studio in London with mummy Manda and her 4 months old baby Jack, who loves the camera! It was real fun, and it was so exciting to meet and interact with Jack for the first time.  Thank you for coming along!

CAROLE & SIMON: A RICHMOND PARK AFFAIR

I met Carole six months ago when I was photographing her vintage themed hen do and we clicked there since.Carole married Simon in her hometown St Malo’, Britanny, in the early days of December, but as they live in London she was keen on having some photographs taken in the settings of Richmond park, which is very much loved by the couple. Carole was brave enough to walk around the park in the early days of January, wearing only her light wedding gown, as she loves the winter season I gave the images a moody feel that most summer weddings cannot showcase as the light cast is completely different in the hottest months.

We had a lot of fun together chasing deers and climbing trees, hopefully she didn’t catch a cold afterwards! Well done guys, thank you for your patience and cooperation!

Marta

NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY: WELCOME TO VERA

It was very emotional to photograph Vera, the first newborn  of a great friend of mine. Her mum and I have known  each other for some fifteen years…..we live in two different countries now , but together we have shared unforgettable moments of our life. Vera was born only two weeks before our studio session, and it was the first time I had seen her and my friend as a new mum! I have been photographing children and newborn almost every day here in London for the past two years, and  for me to be able to fly back home and share these little moments of Vera’s life at their new home it was one of those unforgettable moments that will be added to our long happy memory list.. Congratulations Manuela!
