Marta Demartini

Marta is a professional photographer based in central London. Here she took time out to answer some questions.

About Marta Demartini who is she?

Hi and welcome to my website, my name is Marta, I have been working as a professional photographer in London since 2003 with great joy and dedication. Through my work, I help businesses and families alike to build and maintain a fresh and contemporary archive of images, whether it’s for their brands or their private life memories.

Q. Why did you become a professional photographer?

A. Marta Demartini, 

Photography to me is a way of life. I bought my first SLR  in my early twenties and that awoke all my senses. I have never looked back since. My passion turned soon into a desire for a career change, that enabled me to switch from a business background to enrolling a Photography College in Milan where I worked for well-established advertising studios. Two years later I moved to London, where I currently live and work. I am never tired of being a photographer, I find it extremely rewarding to be able to provide my service to the community and its businesses. Moreover, photography has enabled me to create deep connections with a broad spectrum of individuals from all backgrounds. I totally love that.

Q. What does it involve to be a professional photographer in London?

A. Marta Demartini, 

London is where I have gained most of my practical experience, being such an amazing place where I can constantly make progress and feel inspired. Working here as a photographer is also a great opportunity to meet the most diverse individuals and some truly inspiring people. Throughout over fifteen years of my profession, I have covered events and assignments for many different businesses and organizations including commercial brands like Chanel -Selfridges -Paul Patisserie, corporate clients like Microsoft and many local authorities including GLA and the Mayor of London.

I also cater for high profile individuals by providing them with creative editorial portraits and coverage to private ceremonies and events.

Q. What are your main areas of specialisation?

A. Marta Demartini, 

I am often asked what kind of photography I
specialise in. But I find it difficult to confine myself to a
label such as a fashion photographer, product photographer, etc. My
philosophy is that an artist is always growing and there is no reason
to put limits on their skills. With that in mind, if someone
presents an idea, even if it is out of my “comfort zone,” I will consider
it. That is why my portfolio today is wide and still growing. Regardless, I do have my personal favorites. I love portraying people, as well as capturing their natural moments and the emotions in people’s lives, these are certainly a strong recall in my services.

Q. Do you often travel for work?

A. Marta Demartini, 

Yes, I mainly operate within London (UK) and Genoa (Italy) where I have a second base, but I welcome commissions from all other countries.

Q. What are your hobbies?

A. Marta Demartini, 

In my spare time, you can find me exploring London’s infinite network of streets people and places, or traveling in a different country, I love spending time in the far east & Asia where I often get involved with local organizations by producing photo documentaries to help them get recognition. If I am not doing any of the above you will probably find me in Italy for friends and family visits, sharing the latest news and enjoy traditional home-made dishes! I love hiking in the mountains of Liguria (my home region).The hiking idea initially started as a digestive treatment after the Italian lunch, but it soon became a very enjoyable and healthy sporting option!
